SOULS AND THEIR NUMBER

“According to Jainism there are an infinite number of souls in the universe. Off and some of them attain salvation, but the universe cannot be emptied even though these souls do not come back.” Justify the above statement.

The above statement is mathematically true, the number of souls in the universe is infinite and when infinity goes out of infinity, the result is not zero but infinity. Symbolically, this result is .

These, who dispute it, do not understand what infinity actually is, they should know that if infinity goes out of infinity and the result is zero, it is not infinity but an actual number e.g. there are a very large number of big and small stones in the Himalayas, which while flowing down the big rivers and turning into millions of pebbles and minute pieces of sand, continue to come down in the plains and ultimately find their abode in the mighty ocean. Now the question is can the Himalayas be even emptied of these stones and pebbles? Perhaps some perverse and the ignorant may say, yes, the mountain can be stripped of them, say in millions or trillions of years. But the process is already going on for all these years and we find not even a change near about of the end because while there are an infinite number of stones there would be no time however remote when the entire range of Himalayas will wash awat in the Indian Ocean.

The infinity is that, the infinity this
And on and on unchanging is infinite
Goes out the infinite from the infinite
And there remains unchanged the infinite
The outward loss betrays the infinite
The seeming Jain displays the infinite.

Self-reliance and Self-knowledge: Plato said plainly to mankind, “Those of the social and political ills from which you suffer, are under your contol. You can live in another and a wiser fashion if you choose to think out and work it out. You are not awaken to your own power” .
Aristotle, however, perceived that before men could really control his destiny the needed for more knowledge & for more accurate knowledge that he possessed He again that systematic collection of knowledge is called Science. He sent out explorers to collect facts. He was the father of Natural History. He was the founder of Political Science.
